Hi everyone!
I have spent the past week at training camp in Gainesville, Georgia! We have been kept very busy; our days are filled with shared meals, team building, worship, and many teaching sessions about a variety of topics. I have been showered in wisdom on the topics of forgiveness, the cost of discipleship, the role(s) of the Holy Spirit, the varying cultural context in relation to the Gospel, and how to share it to different cultures in a way that is effective and makes sense in their own context.
I have been trying to absorb all the wise words from staff and teammates, invest in an entire new group of amazing brothers and sisters, and process the reality that I am about to go overseas for six months! It has been overwhelming, challenging, and life-giving all at once.
In this week I have been blown away by how quickly & intimately the Lord is working in the squad as a whole and in me personally. This past week I have been overwhelmed with the feeling of God’s faithfulness and provision. Each day I have experienced him show up in some way. In times of doubt, fear, or insecurity the Lord has shut down those lies and has begun to replace them with His truths. Through worship, teaching sessions, images, and prayers, I am constantly reminded of his goodness and faithfulness.
As some of you may know we were supposed to be in Nicaragua right now but there was expose to COVID which meant the Lord so graciously relocated us to a Christain Campground in Cleveland, GA, to quarantine where there are beds and showers and heat and bathrooms (all things we did not have at the Gainsville base)! Although we were all sad we could not leave on the day we had anticipated, the Lord knew we all needed this time to take a deep breath and prepare for the journey ahead.
I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to embark on this trip and share the love of the Lord with others. How kind of the Lord to prepare a way for this trip in the midst of a pandemic!
I'm excited to share this journey with you all. I greatly appreciate all the love and support!
Blessings,
Bree Patton
